Currently, 98.78% of the steel slabs produced by Hormozgan Steel meet the required standards, making them among the highest-quality steel products in domestic and international markets.
Traditional quality methods are mostly reactive, focusing on inspecting final products to detect defects. However, a quick glance at the market growth process reveals that outdated approaches no longer meet the demands of customers for goods and services.
Therefore, leading companies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution aim to establish the fourth level of quality control processes (QUALITY 4.0) to improve quality procedures through digital tools and emerging technologies.
In this regard, Hormozgan Steel Company has fortunately paid special attention to this subject. Currently, the company’s quality control management is at Level 3 (QUALITY 3.0). The company has based its future strategy on advancing its quality control management to Level 4 (QUALITY 4.0). To achieve this, it has defined and implemented actions and projects such as studying and understanding Quality & Lab 4.0 requirements, exploring modern methods and equipment for online inspection of incoming raw materials, conducting non-destructive testing using EMAT equipment for hot inspections, integrating statistical software with the IS-Suite system (Level 3), analyzing data with artificial intelligence (Level 4.0), and performing automated and intelligent dimension measurements during hot slab inspections.
