First gold bar from Myhree
Black Cat Syndicate is celebrating the first gold doré from its Myhree open pit, part of the Kal East gold project in Western Australia.
Myhree was first discovered by Black Cat in 2018, with pre-strip and ore production commencing on 26 July. The first gold doré from Myhree ore has been poured ahead of schedule.
“Excellent progress is being made on all fronts as we continue the prestrip and the gold production build,” Black Cat managing director Gareth Solly said.
“The first ore parcel has been hauled and processed at Paddington resulting in first doré from Myhree. Myhree was discovered by Black Cat just after our listing in 2018 and to see first doré is a significant milestone for the company.
“As we transition to a production organiSation, results for Myhree/Boundary will be shown monthly during 2024 and thereafter quarterly.”
Ore from Myhree has been mined to 20m below surface, with waste removal now being prioritised. There is no requirement for drill and blast yet, giving significant cost savings to the company.
Following recovery of start-up costs, the first $30 million of cashflow will be received by Black Cat. After that, Black Cat and Mineral Mining Services (MMS) will share profits.
