Carnaby celebrates ‘significant’ copper-gold results
Carnaby Resources is celebrating assay results from drill holes at its Mohawk copper-gold discovery within the Greater Duchess copper-gold project in Mount Isa, Queensland.

According to Carnaby managing director Rob Watkins, the results confirm a significant new copper sulphide discovery in the Mount Hope region.

“Assay results from the first two drill holes at Mohawk have come in at much higher grades than the previously reported pXRF readings and confirm Mohawk as a significant new high grade sulphide discovery,” Watkins said.

“To date we have only drilled six holes into the main Mohawk zone with every hole intersecting strong copper sulphide mineralisation over broad widths.

“Drilling continues and we eagerly await the next the next round of assay results where we may see similar increases in copper grades from the pXRF readings.”

Assay results received include 21m at two per cent copper, 0.6 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from 43m, 12m at 3.3 per cent copper, and 0.9g/t gold from 44m.

Carnaby’s flagship Greater Duchess copper-gold project is located approximately 70km southeast of Mount Isa, centred around the historical Duchess copper mining district.

The company’s current exploration efforts have been centred around the following three prospects, which cornerstone the interim maiden mineral resource estimate.
