According to Mining News Pro – Amin Ebrahimi said that the resilience of the country’s steel industry has reached an alarming limit following the intensification of challenges such as the shortage and high cost of energy carriers.

He stated that the resilience of the country’s steel industry has reached a warning level following the intensification of challenges such as the shortage and high cost of energy carriers, mandated pricing, and the imposition of export duties.

He also pointed to the drop of 60 thousand billion tomans in the profits of listed companies in the steel chain following these challenges and said: “Steel production in Iran without cheap gas is not economically viable because the relative advantage of steel production in Iran is cheap iron ore and energy. Now these advantages have been taken from the steel industry.”

Ebrahimi emphasized that this industry has a significant contribution to the national gross product and the creation of non-oil export revenues.
