Mining News Pro - Five miners died during a fire in one of the South Korean copper mines.
According to Mining News Pro, the search continues to find the only survivor of the incident inside the mine. The Palabora mining company, which manages the mine, announced in a statement that the fire occurred yesterday (Sunday) on the conveyor belts inside the mine and caused the death of five workers.
Experts, mine management and relevant authorities have been deployed to check the situation to the scene.
Safety at work is one of the major problems in South Africa.
Another incident in May was the death of seven miners in a gold mine.
According to Euronews, most mines in South Africa are gold and platinum mines, which is why incidents in these mines occur at a deep level from the earth.
