$1billion Investment in Kurdistan Steel Chain

Mining News -According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, an agreement was signed by IMIDRO and three private companies on completion of steel chain in Kurdistan province. Also, Governor of the Kurdistan province, Bahman Moradnia, attended the ceremony.

Mehdi Karbasian announced: production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes of iron ore concentrates, 2.5 million tonnes of pellets, 1.6 million tonnes of DRI, 1.5 million tonnes of smelting and one million tonnes of steel sheets will be provided by signing this agreement.

This agreement was signed by IMIDRO and three private companies including Saba Steel Company, Sepahan Kimia Mine Company and Emdad Mines Equipment Development Company, he added.

Karbasian noted the IMIDRO’s exploration activities in Kurdistan province and expressed: IMIDRO with cooperation of private sector started 3 thousand square kilometers exploration activities in Kurdistan province (2thousand were finalized and one thousand kilometers will be conducted in summer) to offset the weaknesses in exploration sector.

These projects will lead to 1000 direct and up to 4000 indirect employment. Also, executive operations of the projects will be started by the end of the recent summer, he continued.
