Mining News-According to the report of Public relations of IMIDRO, Major Iranian mining companies produced 38 million and 340 thousand and 530 tonnes of iron ore concentrate (by Goharzamin Iron Ore Company, Opal Parsian Sangan, Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Holding Company, Gol_gohar Mining and Industrial Complex, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex and Iran Central Iron Ore Company) and 6 million and 612 thousand and 468 tonnes of granulated iron produced (by Iran Central Iron Ore Company, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex, Gol_gohar Mining and Industrial Complex, Sangan Iron Ore Complex, Mishdovan iron Ore Company and Iran Central Plateau Iron Ore Company) in the last Iranian year indicates a 18percent and 11percent year-on-year growth respectively.
Also, during this period major Iranian mining companies produced 31 million and 357 thousand and 422 tonnes of pellet and 18 million and 961 thousand and 452 tonnes of DRI, registering a 22 percent and 14 percent increase compared with the corresponding period of a year before.
Last year, major Iranian steel makers (Mobarakeh Steel Company, Khuzestan Steel Company, Esfahan Steel Company, Iran Alloy Steel Company, Iran National Steel Industries Group, South Kaveh Steel Company, Khorasan Steel Company and Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex) produced 17 million and 250 thousand and 988 tonnes of steel ingots and (Mobarakeh Steel Company, Saba Steel Company, Esfahan Steel Company, Azarbaijan Steel Company, Khorasan Steel Company, Iran Alloy Steel Company, Ahwaz Rolling and Pipe Mills Company, INSIG, Oxin Steel Company and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Automotive Sheet Company) produced10 million and 582 thousand and 32 tonnes of steel products, up 20 % and 5% YOY respectively.
Lead &Zinc Production
Angouran Lead and Zinc Complex produced 885,528 tonnes of lead and zinc in last Iranian year indicating a 3 percent decrease YOY. Nakhlak Lead and Zinc generated 43,404 tonnes of lead and zinc registering a 50percent growth compared with the corresponding period of a year ago.
Aluminum Sector
Iran’s three major aluminum producers produced an aggregate of 337,608 tonnes of aluminum ingots last year to register a 1% decline YOY.
Iran Alumina Company produced 240,167 tonnes of alumina powder, up 2% YOY.
Copper Sector
During the last Iranian year, National Copper Industries Company produced one million and 141 thousand and 189 tonnes of copper concentrate (up 6 percent), 201 thousand and 234 tonnes of copper anode(down 11 percent),160thousand and 128 tonnes of copper cathode(down17 percent) and 7 thousand and 920 tonnes of molybdenum(12 percent up).
