Mining News Agency -Mechel, the Russian mining and steel group, announced that the steel production sales from its subsidiary Izhstal was around 113,000 tons in the first quarter, up by 25% year on year.
Mining News -Meanwhile, the sales of commodity-grade slab, section steel and long products rose by 45%, 41% and 20% year on year respectively. The steel products sales grew by 37% year on year in March.
Mechel claimed that the additional output in the first quarter was due to the growth of shipment from its other subsidiary steel plants.
