Mining News Agency -Major Iranian mining companies output increased during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2017-Feb 19,2018).

Mining News -According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Major Iranian mining companies during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2017-Feb 19, 2018) produced 6.025 million tonnes of granulated iron ore indicating a 10 percent growth compared with last year’s corresponding period. Sangan Iron Ore Complex accounted for 1.949 million tonnes of the total output, followed by Central Iron Ore Complex with 1.698 million tonnes and Iran Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Complex with one million tonnes.

The production of iron ore concentrate stood at 33.884 million tonnes, up15 %YOY.

Gol-e-Gohar Mining and Industrial Complex had the largest share of production with 12.12 million tonnes, followed by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex with7.78 million tonnes, Iran Central Iron Ore Company with4.53 million tonnes, Goharzamin Iron Ore Complex with3.79 million tonnes, Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Company with 3.76 million tonnes and Opal Parsian Sangan with 1.88 million tonnes.

Major Iranian mining companies produced 29.134 million tonnes of pellet registering a 24 percent growth compared with corresponding period of the last year. Gol-e-Gohar Mining and Industrial Complex had the largest share of production with 10.197 million tonnes, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Complex with 6.971 million tonnes.

DRI production stood at 17.4 million tonnes, up 15 %YOY. Mobarkeh was the largest producer with6.694 million tonnes followed by Khuzestan steel with 3.7million tonnes and Hormozgan steel with 1.43 million tonnes.

Major Iranian steel mills produced 15.79 million tonnes of steel ingot indicating a 20 percent rise compared with corresponding period of last year. Also, output of steel products increased to 9.7 million tonnes registering 6percent growth YOY.

During the first 11 months of the current Iranian year, Major mining companies produced 1.05 million tonnes of copper concentrate indicating a 7 percent growth while copper cathode production decreased to140.368 thousand tonnes indicating a 19 percent down YOY.
