QUEBEC – Maple Gold Mines of Montreal has outlined more mineralization from step-out drilling in two zones at the Douay gold project 50 km southwest of Matagami.
In the Nika zone, hole DO-18-227 cut 5.0 metres of 2.32 g/t gold on the southeast edge of an existing resource area. This is a new syenite-hosted zone about 130 metres south and parallel to the main zone of the conceptual pit.
In the NW zone, hole DO-18-223 returned 3.0 metres of 1.58 g/t gold. This hole was collared about 270 metres to the west of the NW zone conceptual pit. This is a new volcanic-hosted zone.
Micon updated the pit-constrained mineral resources for Maple earlier this year. Using a cut-off of 0.45 g/t gold, the indicated portion is 9.4 million tonnes grading 1.59 g/t for 479,000 contained oz. of gold. The inferred portion is 84.2 million tonnes at 1.02 g/t for 2.8 million oz. of contained gold.
